GST IS THE LANDMARK LEGISLATION MADE BY THE NDA GOVERNMENT:
DR D PURUSHOTTAM COMMISSIONER OF SERVICE TAX DEPARTMENT
GST WILL LEAD TO ECONOMIC UNIFICATION OF INDIA
WORKSHOP ON GOODS AND SERVICE TAX (GST)WAS INAUGURATED IN HYDERABAD TODAY.
GST is the landmark legislation made by the NDA Government. While addressing the inaugural function of GST in Hyderabad today Dr D Purushottam Commissioner Of Service Tax Department said that the traders and business people should not be afraid of new tax regime. The data Migration of existing tax payer is easy through GST common portal. The objective of the GST is to avoid multiple taxation. The Commissioner further stated that Service tax Commissionerate has setup a GST Helpdesk for attending to the taxpayers on issues of migration. Speaking on the occasion Dr P.J Sudhakar Additional Director General PIB said that the Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi has taken several measures for implementing economic reforms. This includes the demonetization meant for unearthing black money and containing corruption. Prime Minister's initiative of JAM Jan Dhan Yojana bank account Aadhaar and mobile banking system have revolutionised the concept of cashless transactions to achieve digital India. GST will lead to economic unification of India.
Mr. N. Mohammed Ali, Deputy Commissioner, briefed the tax payers on salient features of GST and outlined the procedure for migration of existing tax payers to GST. Mr. M.V.D. Praneeth, Assistant Commissioner, interacted with the taxpayers and cleared their queries related to migration. Mr. P. Anand Kumar, Additional Commissioner and Mr. P.D. Puli, Joint Commissioner attended the workshop. Several traders and people from Hyderabad Secunderabad cybarabad have participated in the workshop.The senior officers of the service tax department have explained the important issues of GST. The 3 day interactive workshop on GST awareness and migration will continue till 17th of this month. The traders and the public are requested to attend the workshop and get the clarifications on vital issues of GST.
