A central University and a tribal University to come up soon in AP- Javadekar

Union Minister for Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation and Information and Broadcasting Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu and Union Minister for Human Resource and Development Shri Prakash Javadekar Jointly laid foundation stone for Regional Institute of Education (RIE) of NCERT at Chavatapalem in Venkatachalam Mandal of SRSP Nellore district here today.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Naidu said that this is the 6th RIE in the country and would cater to the states of AP, Telangana, Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Stressing on the importance given to skill development by NDA government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that the government is committed to promote Quality Education.” Wealth may not bring education but education will surely bring wealth” the minister noted.
Shri Naidu further said that Nellore town would soon get an FM Station and would also get drinking water and drainage system. “My life ambition is to travel in train between Krishnapatnam port and Obulavaripalle and also to travel in Buckingham canal. I hope I will realize them soon” the minister said.
Stressing on the importance of preserving our culture and traditions, Shri Naidu said education system should be the basis to do so. “Education should develop patriotism, bring in social awareness, nurture environment and develop human values” Shri Naidu said. He thanked the state government for providing 50 acre plus land to the institution. He appealed to HRD minster Shri Javadekar from the next academic year itself even in rented building instead of waiting for completion of construction of proper building
Earlier Union minister for HRD, Shri Javadekar said that the RIE would provide pre service and in service training to teachers besides offering 4 year B.Sc, B.Ed programme, regular B Ed programs and also doctoral programs in education . The Institute would have a multipurpose demonstration school with 1500 students’ capacity and a vocational centre besides sports and computer facilities. Stating that the mission of his ministry is “education for all and quality education for all”, the minister said that, soon the respective state governments would have to decide on detention at 5th and 8thstandards in schools. He further said that institutes providing education training facilities would soon be assessed and for those performing well would be encouraged while those which are lagging behind in infrastructure and other facilities would be regulated.
Appreciating Shri Naidu’s efforts in getting many nation al institutions to AP, Shri Javadekar said that the NDA government is committed not only to give all the institutes promised in the state bifurcation act but also to provide for more institutes. –soon a central university would be established, and a tribal university will come up in Anantapur, Shri Javadekar Said. In this connection he lauded the efforts of Shri Nadiu in making Nellore district with 1500 MW Power generation as the largest power producing district in the country.
Earlier Shri Senapathi , Chairman NCERT said the institute would be completed with an amount of 500 crore. AP Education Minister Shri Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Municipal Administration Minister Shri P. Narayana, MPs , MLAs, and MLCs from the district participated in the event.
